Taichung Gateway Park Competition

This is an open competition based in Taichung 2008 to convert a 620 acre decommissioned airport into an urban park in the heart of the city. Our approach is Relaxation. All the different elements of the park are united with the theme to relax the visitors in social, active, private ways. Running parallel to the park we have designed a water purification system that ultimately provides for a fresh water beach on the northern tip of the project.
台中是全台湾公园绿地人均比最高的城市，她并不像其他的城市一样需要面对城市规划不周所带来的困境以及绿色空间的短缺。台中市民还有造访的访客均有足够的空间伸展自己的腿，生活游憩其中。但这并不意味我们就不用再规划新的绿色空间。相反，她意味着，任何新的城市开放空间计画，必须要提升到一个新层次的运作效能。除了要能迎合当地的生态经济，还需要透过其细节拉出历史脉络，最重要的是，她需要能够符合台中给人一贯的印象：舒服悠闲，这也是台中的一个重要标志。
因此，我们提议的是一个可以令人彻底放松的公园，利用多功能的空间设定来复制台中机场搬迁所留下的一种空旷感,旨在创造一个轻松、宽敞且无负担的公园。松弛是一种形式的解放
